SEASONS READINGS &
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
FROM
NEED 2!!!!!!!!
First of all I have to say thank you again for all of you who attended N2R IV. We had such great time and everyone who attended made it a great success. For those of who have not read August: Osage County, we(using it in a royal sense, LOL) highly recommend it. Its truly an American Classic.
I can't believe this was our fourth play reading this year! We started off with The Rabbit Hole, next up was The Maidens Prayer, then Hay Fever and finally August: Osage County. I can't begin to tell you how truly grateful I am to all the friends who have came out and supported our little group which keeps getting bigger and better every time with the addition of new friends. There are not too many venues today that bring you in close, welcome you as family and touches your heart like the theatre. That is one of the main reasons we get together every month, where ever possible and read! We don't care what agency you are with, what your "type" is or what roles you think you can't read. All that we ask of you is to share some creative energy with us as we take this journey every month into this amazing world of theatre.
Goals for 2009! (BECAUSE YOU NEED 2 HAVE GOALS!)
1. NEW YEAR, NEW WORKS!
We are excited to start off the New Year with some NEW WORKS! We are taking the month of January off and jumping back in the month of February with readings from original works. If you have an excerpt from something you are currently working on and would like to hear it read contact Christine and we will get cracking with adding it to our February list of NEED 2.
2. UP ON ITS FEET! (NEED 2 PLAY)
With this next coming year we are hoping to mount a full theatrical production on its feet. "HEY! You're just a reading group." No we are not! From the very beginning our vision was to take this reading group and nurture it into a company of players. This of course is not an easy task(especial in the city of angels) but we are up for the challenge!
3. TRADITION...TRADITION!!!!
We are still standing by our reading series and are always open for more to participate! What we will be reading is usually determined at the previous reading so if you want to have a voice in whats read, "Well, SET THE TIVO AND COME AND JOIN US! We extend this invitation to you every month to come and join us and read, read, read!
SEASONS READINGS FROM EVERYONE AT NEED 2!
NEED 2 is POWERED by Christine Terrisse(the vision), Lovelle Liquigan(the passion) and Frank Astran(the brains...I know scary), and you (the soul)

NEED 2 READ 2
Need 2 Read 2
Hello All,
Just putting out a friendly reminder about the second reading we are having on OCT 2nd @ 7:30pm. If you haven't guessed it by now the play we are reading is The Maidens Prayer by Nicky Silver. If you click on the title of this blog "NEED 2 READ 2" at the top of this page it will take you to a link from google books that gives you a peek at the script, character break down and back cover synopsis.
Our last reading was very casual and a lot of fun. We got a chance to snack, read, laugh and a new play was recommend for the next reading. Please let me know if you are going to attend and I will send you directions to the reading.
Blogs and kisses
Frank

Nature and Nurture
I have been in a bit of a funk for the past couple days. I think mostly because I have no upcoming projects in the future. Which I know is partly due to my lack of passion for putting myself out there lately. Things have been a little off for me and I am assured by Leanne that they will come around. I have a feeling they will, but until then I am giving myself permission to be a little sad. I'm not going to feel guilty about it I'm not going to let it take over me but simply be it for as long as I need to be. I was walking to work the other day(yes I walk now) and came across this beautiful tree and in it was a heart. A broken heart to be more specific. I was really surprised to see it. The heart woke me up and made me realize that I was dealing with something and I needed to be aware of it. Not to sure how things work, but somehow today all three people that I needed to talk to called. Dave, Katie, and Leanne. Possibly the only 3 people on earth who know exactly how to get me on the path to de-funking. Strange how the universe works. Just when nature woke me up, my friends were there to nurture.

Wilting Flowers and Frangk
Hope this photo says it all. Came home from a dear friends wedding and had Champagne, candles, flowers, and a french movie. What an amazing weekend . Friday I woke up at the crack of dawn and hustled my way through the flower district to buy flowers for reception. Arranged flowers all day and had a nice quiet evening with Gar. Then Sat before the wedding i had a hydrangea emergency. Most of them had wilted. DAMN floral oasis. So on my way to the wedding, yes on my way, I stopped of at a florist and begged for any bunches of flowers they could spare. This did not prove to be easy especially since they did not speak english very well. Never the less arrived to the reception, performed emergency floral surgery in the back of the ford explorer and there you have it. Everyone complimented the flowers. I was cursing them. Well 9 drinks, 4 speeches, 1 Frank Sinatra impersonater later we were on our way home. Which turned into a beautiful romatic way to end the evening.

Adventures
Just spoke with one of my best friends and I have not spoken with him a two months. I miss that guy and now he and his wife have a beautiful child. How time flys when everyone is on there own adventure in life.
I recently got cast in a show in San Pedro. Yes the roles are small, yes it hurt my ego, yes I know its about the work and yes I will have fun. At least its a paying gig! See I can be positive.
Ok things that happened this month in bullet point fashion:
- threw my niece a "you got fired party" (which she got a new job the following week)
- had French night, ate @ le fritte and saw amazing french movie
- audtioned for 4 plays got cast in 3 only excepted one!
- audtioned for 2 commercials got called back for one, but no cigar : (
- rode bikes on the beach in Santa Monica w/ Gar and Michelle
- had an amazing time in Huntington beach with Gar (our two year anniversay)

Jesus and the Bunny.
So I finally put two and two together. Thanks to our friend the internet, my mind has finally been enlightened. My question: "What does the Easter bunny have to do with Jesus?" Don't laugh! I'm thirty years old and I finally know the answer. So it appears that the Easter Bunny dates back to a geman, saxon tradition that had a hare(not a bunny) that would leave colorful and decorated eggs in the bonnets of all the good children during the first days of spring. Some where along the way it seems that this tradition merged with the resurrection of you know who.
(any futher clarification would be greatly appreciated, I'm not frangkepedia after all)

Me. A name I call myself!
A long time ago my mother told me she wanted me to be named Santiago, after one of her favorite uncles. My dad being my dad wanted one of his sons to have his family first name. My older brother was lucky enough to be named Brian, after one of my dads favorite baseball players. So the last son born and the lucky winner is moi! Officialy my first name is Francisco, but everyone who is close to me knows me as just plain ole Frank. According to the free dictionary online my name is a noun, verb and adjective. I am everything from a member of one of Germanic tribes of Rhine, being open and sincere with expression or a hot dog. I think that covers all the basis with me.
